Unlike traditional passive network monitoring, runZero traffic sampling does not collect a full dump of all network traffic. Instead, it looks for only the network data needed for asset discovery and fingerprinting.
When relevant network data is seen, the runZero Explorer processes a sample of the traffic, normalizes it into asset records as if it had been collected by a conventional scan, scrubs any sensitive fields, and then uploads the records to the runZero Console.
